A Panchayat Committee is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for administering the affairs of Panchayati Raj Institutions. In the case of a Grama Panchayat, it is the principal governing body that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and oversees the day-to-day administration of the Panchayat.The main components of the Panchayat Committee are:President: The head of the Grama Panchayat. History of Grama Panchayat

History of Thumpamon Thumpamon is a village with a rich historical legacy that is believed to date back to the 8th century AD. References to the regions surrounding Thumpamon can be found in Pathitrupathu, an ancient Tamil literary work believed to have been composed during the 4th century AD. According to linguistic scholars, the village derived its name from the abundance of the Thumba plant (Leucas aspera) that once flourished in the area. Historians, however, suggest that the name originated from its location at the boundary (thumpu) between the kingdoms of the Pandalam Raja and the Chenneerkara Raja.
