The Welfare Standing Committee is the principal committee responsible for leading activities that ensure social welfare, the development of marginalized communities, the protection of women and children, and the promotion of social justice within the Panchayat.
👨👩👧 Social Welfare and Development
- Lead welfare and development programmes for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other backward communities.
- Formulate and supervise schemes for the welfare of women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities.
- Review the implementation of Social Security Pension schemes and beneficiary services.
- Coordinate and monitor poverty alleviation programmes.
👩 Women, Child and Disability Welfare
- Promote programmes for women's empowerment and gender equality.
- Evaluate child welfare, child protection, and nutrition programmes.
- Support rehabilitation and welfare schemes for persons with disabilities.
- Recommend measures to ensure social justice and equality.

- Examine matters related to beneficiary selection and implementation of welfare schemes.
