The principal committee responsible for leading the development activities of the Grama Panchayat
The Development Standing Committee is the principal committee responsible for guiding the overall development of the Grama Panchayat, promoting production sectors, regulating land use, and improving infrastructure.
📋 1. Core Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of annual and five-year plans for the social and economic development of the Panchayat.
- Supervise and promote agriculture, soil conservation, animal husbandry, dairy development, small-scale industries, and fisheries.
- Regulate land use within the Panchayat and formulate schemes for converting fallow land into cultivable land.
- Coordinate activities related to the cooperative sector.

- Supervise the construction and maintenance of markets, public toilets, and slaughterhouses under the Panchayat.
- Monitor Panchayat-owned farms, seed production centres, and related facilities.
- Collect, maintain, and update statistical data relating to agriculture and allied sectors.
